We Make Noise Sessions Madrid powered by Amazon Music: 20 songs in 3 days
From September 15–17, 24 women and gender-expansive artists gathered at The Music Station in Madrid for three days of writing, producing, and collaborating. Together, they created 20 original songs, working in groups of three and bringing their own experiences, ideas, and creative styles into each room.

Throughout the session, Valeria Castro was an active part of the creative process. She moved between the different production rooms, working directly with the artists and offering lyrical tips, melodic ideas, and arrangement suggestions. Her involvement made the sessions feel less like a traditional songwriting camp and more like a shared creative space where everyone could contribute, experiment, and learn from each other.

The collaboration also created opportunities that extended beyond the three days. Jara Pol was selected to collaborate with Valeria on an Amazon Music Original, giving one of the session's artists the chance to continue developing something that began during the Madrid session. But the songs were only part of what was created. For many of the artists, the opportunity to work alongside other women and gender-expansive musicians was just as meaningful.

“Me hizo sentirme más segura con mis composiciones, cuando creo yo sola muchas veces me limito o me juzgo más. Había un ambiente muy seguro que me permitió crear desde la libertad.”
“It made me feel more confident with my compositions. When I create alone, I often limit or judge myself more. There was a very safe environment that allowed me to create freely.”
Another participant highlighted the connections made throughout the session:
“Conocer y compartir de mujeres artistas aprendiendo de ellas y de su trabajo. Los momentos de unión y esa sensación de ‘hermandad’ sin apenas conocernos.”
“Meeting and sharing with women artists, learning from them and their work. The moments of connection and that feeling of sisterhood, even though we barely knew each other.”
After three days of making music together, the artists wrapped up the session with an open mic at The Music Station, a chance to come together, celebrate, and share in the community they had built over the course of the session.

When artists have the freedom to show up as themselves, something bigger than a song can take shape. Over three days in Madrid, 24 artists shared ideas, took creative risks, learned from one another, and built a space where everyone could create without holding back. The 20 songs they wrote are part of that story, but so are the new connections, confidence, and sense of community they took with them.
