Introducing Natalia Bautista
The core of our mission at We Make Noise is the belief that music is better when we create together. Building community, making space for new connections, and creating more opportunities for women and gender expansive people is at the heart of everything we do. And as our community continues to grow, we're always excited to come across people who share that vision and bring new perspectives, experiences, and connections to the table.
That’s why we are so thrilled to welcome Natalia Bautista to the We Make Noise team! Natalia brings years of experience in the music industry and a deep connection to the Latin American music scene. In her role, she’ll help us build partnerships across Latin America and work closely with our chapters throughout the region, connecting more people and communities through the work we do. We asked Natalia to share a little bit about her journey in music and the work she's been doing across the industry – here’s what she had to say!
"I am so excited to be on board as a staff member in WMN. For many years I have been doing my own little thing in Bogotá Colombia, trying to build spaces for women in our ever so growing music industry...
When I started out in this field 15 years ago, the industry was definitely not what it is now, and being a female producer and songwriter was full of challenges and obstacles; I can say we were definitely rare. This inspired me to create camps, events, workshops, spaces for women in the industry to meet, connect, share and build a more equal industry with more visibility for us all; so when I first heard about WMN, I couldn’t believe that there were other women with the same purpose and mission, doing not only great and inspiring things, but also having visibility on a much larger scale, summoning a global community, and working with high-tech partners, music industry executives and big names, as well as being a presence in big music markets around the world. I could not ait to get to know everyone involved and somehow collaborate or be a part of it. I was under some serious FOMO! But the really good kind.
Two years ago, Angela from Spain invited me to be part of a panel in one of the first editions of BIME in Colombia, and from then on she not only opened the door to all the amazing things WMN is creating, but I also met Nan and Erin a few years later, immediately falling in love with the team and everything that drives each goal. I think I’ve found a place to belong to, that inspires me to keep fighting for equity and all the good values that make music nowadays still worth creating. I am so excited about all I will learn, next to some kick-ass sisters, and very much motivated to keep achieving great lengths, but not just locally anymore but in all LATAM.

Natalia has already been such a joy to have on the WMN team. Her positive energy and the way she connects with the people around her make her such a strong addition to our staff. We're so happy to have her on board and excited for everyone in the WMN community to get to know her too. We can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have as we continue growing our community, strengthening our chapters and creating more opportunities for women and gender expansive people in music.
