Breaking Gender Barriers in the Music Industry Through Mentorship and Community
Women's History Month commemorates the achievements of women while highlighting persistent gender disparities in various industries. In the music sector, the 2024 Annenberg Inclusion Report revealed that while women comprised 35% of music artists, they remained significantly underrepresented as producers and songwriters. This underscores why We Make Noise's mission is more critical than ever—creating spaces, amplifying voices, and driving systemic change throughout the music industry.
Our Mission: Advancing Gender Equity in Music
At We Make Noise, we provide comprehensive opportunities, personalized mentorship, and strong community support to women and gender-expansive individuals in music. Through our expanding network of local chapters, global partnerships, and collaborations with industry leaders, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing gender equity across all aspects of the music industry worldwide.
"We Make Noise for HER" Campaign: Supporting Women Music Producers

Throughout Women's History Month, we highlighted extraordinary women who have shaped music's past, present, and future through our "We Make Noise for HER" campaign—a dedicated initiative supporting gender equity in both music production and music technology.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped amplify these stories! While this campaign has ended, our commitment to gender equity in music continues. Stay connected with us for future initiatives and ways to support our community of over 10,000 women musicians and producers.
Celebrating Our Music Community Leaders
Women's History Month was dedicated to honoring those driving change in music production and technology. We spotlighted remarkable individuals from our community and chapter icons—artists, organizers, and innovators making significant impacts in their local music scenes. These inspiring stories were shared across our social media platforms, celebrating their contributions to diversifying the music production landscape.
