WE MAKE NOISE

SAO PAULO

WMN São Paulo provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for women and the LGBTQIA+ community, fostering professional growth and artistic expression through mentoring programs, workshops, and the active promotion of talented music creators. Our mission is to empower underrepresented groups in the São Paulo music industry by strengthening their participation, visibility, and influence.

The chapter is powered by Purple Produções, the cultural production company founded by producer and artist Sue Andrade. Purple has produced concerts, festivals, music videos, live sessions, workshops, sports events, and exhibitions, collaborating with artists such as Glue Trip, Ema Stoned, Pedro Bienemann, Olympyc, Orquestra Vermelha, Atalhos, Flora Matos, Danna Lisboa, Max B.O, OZU, Bikini Kill (USA), Gaidaa (NL), Lucas Santana (FR/BR), and Déborah Leclercq (FR). Dedicated to equity in the music industry, Purple has also led and supported initiatives such as Arte Sônica Amplificada, UH!Manas.TV, Girls Rock Camp Brasil, and Women Music Event, while contributing to renowned festivals like Coquetel Molotov, SIM São Paulo, Music Video Festival, Varilux Festival, Cecília Viva, and Aonde Festival.

Most of our workshops take place at our partner space, Estudio 7lira, located in the west side of the city. However, we aim to expand into central and peripheral venues in the future to reach broader and more diverse audiences. We believe in the power of education to share knowledge, foster positive change, and transform the political, social, and cultural landscape—building stronger connections between music professionals and aspiring creators from all musical backgrounds.
